Charred Hearts are an old school UK Punk Band hailing from Swindon in the Southwest, originally called The Corpses, they formed in 1981. They were came together from the remnants of their previous two bands, The BCG's and Static Annoyers. A bunch of street-drinking 15 & 16 year old urchins, they found their mini-rebellion in a disenchanted Thatcherite England easy. The band were followed by their local 'Corpses Barmy Army'.
In 1983 they changed their name to Charred Hearts, during this time they gigged with bands such as the Subhumans, Newtown Neurotics, Rubella Ballet, Chumbawumba and Action Pact. Several recordings were made at this but are now pretty much impossible to get hold of. By 1996 the band became disillusioned with all things musical and disbanded.
In 2000 a chance meeting of all four original band members ended in the idea of reforming the band, originally, just for a one-off show in March 2001. However after a fantastic gig to 300+ people, they decided to kepp it going and began gigging ferociously. An EP 'Good Boys' was quickly released and loads of shows were to follow. During the 2005 recording of the album 'The Triumph and the Tragedy' the original guitarist, Pat, left the band and guitars duties were completed by the albums producer. Shortly after the CD release the band suffered the loss of it's original drummer, Dave, due to work commitments. This now left the only two original members, Dermot Fuller (Vocals) and Eamon Treanor (Bass), with a bit of a headache, however they soon recruited and old friend Lee Fellows (An original member of the 'Corpses Barmy Army') on guitar and the singer's son, Sam Fuller, on drums. This proved quite a masterstroke, as the current line-up is now the most dynamic ever. This band now kicks ass live! and supports/tours with the likes of UK Subs, Vice Squad, The Subhumans, Goldblade, Sham 69, The Business and loads more.
In 2009 a tour of Scandinavia took place and then a slot on the 2009 Rebellion festival in Blackpool. A Punk Rock classic single 'Persecute Me' was released by this line-up.
2010 saw a headline slot at a Punk festival in France, a return appearance at the Rebellion festival and shows across France, Germany and Spain.
In 2011 the Charred Hearts celebrated their 30th anniversary! They lined up a year of live gigs with bands like the Buzzcocks, Anti-Nowhere League, GBH, UK Subs, The Defects and Blitzkrieg to name but a few, along with local gigs and a short tour of Germany combined with appearances at the Stoke Ska/Punk Fest, Nice 'n' Sleazy Festival, Glasgow Phoenix Mayhem Punkfest and Rebellion Festival ... it was certainly a busy year them!
